Last week, Canadian pop rock greats Sloan began unfurling info regarding their upcoming expanded vinyl reissue of their sophomore effort, Twice Removed. While the band's Jay Ferguson and Chris Murphy laid out a ton of details about some peripheral goodies in a trailer for the box set, they only hinted at what would be presented on the platters. Now, however, the band have delivered the tracklist in full.
Sloan have now begun taking pre-orders for the box set on their website, with a going price of $89.99.
As previously reported, the first LP is the original version of Twice Removed. The second is a track-for-track recreation of the 12-song set using demo tracks from three separate sessions.
But things get super exciting for collectors at LP number three, which features 11 unreleased numbers in demo form that the troupe previously explained didn't gel with the songs that eventually became Twice Removed.
The seven-inch that comes in the package, meanwhile, will feature another demo version of the classic Ferguson/Murphy duet "I Hate My Generation" on the A-side, while the Patrick Pentland-sung "I Can Feel It" featuring alternate chords is preserved on the flip. It's unclear at present if former Jale member Jennifer Pierce's vocals appear on this version.
As previously noted, if you pre-order now, you can nab three more unreleased tunes: "Sing Your Little Heart Out," "D Is for Driver" and "Every Needle Has an Eye." There are also more goodies included, and you can get the full run-down here.
"Hope you enjoy the box set, it was fun to assemble over the past 6 months," Ferguson wrote in a statement. "If it goes well and the fans dig it, we'll try the same process for another LP in the future. Plus, what else are we going to do with all the rest of the stuff in the vault??"
Pre-orders are scheduled to start shipping September 4, one day before Sloan start up the first leg of their Twice Removed tour, which will find the act playing the album in full.
