Slipknot's Corey Taylor Tapped for Role in 'Sharknado 4'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 4, 2016

Slipknot singer Corey Taylor's resume includes many things, from masked metal singer, to Marilyn Manson tourmate, to haunted house magnate. You can now include potential Sharknado victim to the list, as he's signed on to appear in the unnatural disaster movie franchise's upcoming fourth instalment.

Taylor was one of many celebrities confirmed to appear in Sharknado: The 4th Awakens by the Syfy network today (May 4). Within the full reveal of cameos, it's explained that the musician will appear in the flick as a security guard at the Shark World hotel. While it's possible he'll be screaming his head off at some point during Sharknado 4, it likely won't be in his guise as zipper-mouthed Slipknot figure #8.

Taylor isn't the only musician set to appear in the upcoming film, which premieres on July 31. Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus will be acting as the manager of the Shark World hotel, while Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil and hotel circuit standby Wayne Newton will appear as themselves.

The cast of Sharknado 4 also includes returning leads Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, as well as cameos from b-listers like David Hasselhoff, David Faustino (Married with Children), Fox News correspondent Stacey Dash, The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Cynthia Bailey, Duane Chapman (a.k.a."Dog the Bounty Hunter"), Al Roker and more.

In a bit of calendar-specific, franchise mixing cross-promotion, you'll find the Star Wars-spoofing poster for Sharknado: The 4th Awakens up above. May the fourth be with you, guys.

As previously reported, Slipknot hit the road later this year with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice and Men. The trip finds the acts heading into Canada for shows in Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. You'll find the date details over here.
