Slipknot's Corey Taylor Ordered Not to Headbang on Upcoming Tour

Were you looking to freak the fuck out during Slipknot's upcoming North American tour with Marilyn Manson? Well, that makes one of you, as masked vocalist Corey Taylor has been ordered by doctors not to jump around or headbang during the summer trek.

News of Taylor's anti-pogo prescription comes in the wake of his recent, unplanned spinal surgery, which forced the band to push a number of early June tour dates deeper into the summer. Following the operation, which necessitated the replacement of a spinal disc, Taylor tweeted that he's been ok'ed to hit the stage, but won't be wilding out as he normally would.

While Taylor won't be stomping around for the Iowa outfit's upcoming run of dates, you can make do with the fact that there's another eight masked maniacs shouldering the load for the cord-shredding vocalist. Also, that his current onstage mask is much more shorn than an earlier version adorned in wiry dreadlocks should also take a bit of pressure off of his wrecked neck.

Slipknot's tour with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men officially starts up next Tuesday (June 28) in Nashville, while the acts will cross over into Canada for shows in Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City in July. You'll find all of the date and venue details over here.
