Sled Island Music and Arts Festival returns to Calgary this summer, and the initial lineup for this year's event has just been announced.
As previously reported, Godspeed You! Black Emperor are serving as the festival's guest curators this time around, and organizers have unveiled the list of artists who will be joining them on the bill from June 24 to 28 at various venues around Calgary.
Television, Drive Like Jehu, Lighting Bolt, Body/Head, Daniel Lanois, Ex Hex and King Tuff top the list of scheduled performers. But also taking the stage throughout the fest will be Pentagram, Fu Manchu, Viet Cong, Pissed Jeans, Jaga Jazzist, Black Milk, Hundred Waters, Son Lux, Lydia Ainsworth, the Coathangers, Iceage and Oxbow.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor's handpicked curation includes Body/Head and will also showcase the Ex, Matana Roberts, Fred and Toody, Carla Bozulich, Avec le Soleil Sortant de Sa Bouche, Big Brave, and David Dondero. Godspeed themselves will be performing twice during the fest at the city's Central United Church.
