After naming Julien Baker as their guest curator last month, organizers behind Calgary's Sled Island festival have lifted the curtain on the initial lineup set to play this year's fest.

The first reveal is highlighted by Le1f, Cass McCombs, Oblivians, Fugazi offshoot the Messthetics, Man or Astro-Man?, Cate Le Bon, Fly Pan Am, William Basinski, Lubomyr Melnyk, Chandra, Kid Congo Powers and the Pink Monkey Birds, Ouri, Sinjin Hawke + Zora Jones and more.

As for Baker's own picks, they include Japanese Breakfast, JPEGMAFIA, Hop Along, Bully, Torres, Worriers, Death Bells and Squirrel Flower. Baker will also perform a set of her own.

Of course, today's announcement is only the tip of the iceberg, with over 225 more bands set to be announced alongside further comedy, film, visual art, special events and conference programming.

Sled Island's 2019 edition takes place June 19 to 23 at various venues across Calgary.
