Sleater-Kinney

"Bury Our Friends"

The wait for that new Sleater-Kinney song is over. Just a couple days ahead of the official release of Sleater-Kinney's Start Together box set, "Bury Our Friends," from the collection's "mystery 7-inch," has surfaced online.

The cut plays like later-period Sleater-Kinney track, circa The Woods, with a suitably grooving drum shuffle settling beneath an entwining of riffs both slippery and staccato. The new tune likewise brings back together the always perfectly-meshing vocals of guitarists Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein. That said, there's some worried and weary unrest in those lyrics.
You can check out "Bury Our Friends" down below, and pick up Start Together this Tuesday (October 21) through Sub Pop.

It's as yet unclear if the new single is a preview for a thus-far only rumoured release dubbed No Cities to Love.
