Sky Ferreira Delays Her Album, Plots Visual EP for Early 2018

'Masochism' won't be coming out any time soon

Sky Ferreira has been talking about her album Masochism since early 2015, but she announced later that same year that the album was delayed due to health and scheduling issues. Now, she has indefinitely delayed the full-length and is instead working on a visual EP for early 2018.

It seems that her health is once again the cause of the delay. Speaking with The FADER, she explained, "I have been dealing with health issues, so I don't feel ready to put out an album, because it requires a lot more [work]."

Instead, she'll be releasing an EP with a series of interconnected music videos. She said, "It's an EP that is heavily visual, and the videos will all connect to each other in an abstract way. The visual component isn't necessarily a concept, it was more of an excuse for me to make videos for all the songs."

She promised that it will be out "in February, or March, for sure." She also added that she has been working with female co-writers and that she is "experimenting a little more." When the EP arrives, it will be the follow-up to her 2013 album My Night, My Time.

In other Sky Ferreira news, she directed a video for Marching Church's new holiday video, "Christmas on Earth." Watch that below.
