Following last year's eponymous debut, Helen Ballentine has detailed a new EP as Skullcrusher. The Los Angeles-based artist will release Storm in Summer on April 9 through Secretly Canadian.

The five-song Storm in Summer follows Ballentine's aforementioned debut, which Exclaim! named one of the 25 Best EPs of 2020.

Storm in Summer features the previously shared "Song for Nick Drake," while its title track is available to hear alongside a music video below.

"I wrote 'Storm in Summer' after releasing the first Skullcrusher EP," Ballentine shared in a statement. "Over that summer I thought a lot about what it means to really put myself out there and share something personal. I felt so vulnerable and overwhelmed by the fact that these songs I had written in private were exposed and likely being misinterpreted or disliked. I think the song really tries to communicate these anxieties in a cathartic way while also leaning more into the beauty of relinquishing part of myself."
