Skratch Bastid Doesn't Forget Canada on Intercontinental World Champion Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 10, 2010

Juno-nominated Nova Scotian Paul Murphy (aka Skratch Bastid) is one of Canada's most treasured DJs. For over a decade, he has proven his supremacy as a turntablist via countless mixtapes, contest victories, production work and his 2005 album, Taking Care of Business. Refusing to slow things down, he's just announced a world tour that will close out 2010.

The jaunt, which has been dubbed the Intercontinental World Champion Tour, kicks off tonight (November 10) in Halifax. From there, Bastid will share the stage with Big Boi in Toronto on November 11 and return to Halifax for one more show on November 12 before flying out to New Zealand. In addition to dates around the globe, the tour will include a pile more Canadian stops, including shows in Vancouver, Calgary and Saskatoon.

To celebrate the launch of the tour, Skratch Bastid uploaded a new performance video that sees the DJ make magic with two copies of Parliament's "Flashlight" and a copy of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall." The two-minute clip can be streamed below, and beneath that check out an in-depth "making of" segment.
