Skinny Kids 'Strangers' (EP stream)
Vancouver combo Skinny Kids' past discography consists of a self-titled cassette, and now they've become the latest band to release a record with the ever-busy local imprint Kingfisher Bluez. Their Strangers 7-inch drops on October 17, and it's available to stream now.

The collection's four tracks are brash, punchy slices of garage rock. The distorted guitars and hard, boppy rhythms give this EP its grit, while the reverb imbues it with a psychedelic sense of wooziness. The collection ends on a comparatively sweet, tuneful note with "Around Your Mind," which adds country-fried acoustic strums and warped tones to the sonic palette.

It was produced by Felix Fung (Chains of Love, Mode Moderne) and will be available in a run of 300 hand-numbered copies. Hear it below.

Skinny Kids will unveil Strangers in a double release party with Bad Channels at the Cobalt in Vancouver on Friday (October 17). B-Lines are also on the bill.
