Skeletonwitch

"I Am of Death (Hell Has Arrived)" (video)

Ohio metal masters Skeletonwitch are supporting their impending Serpents Unleashed LP with a scythe-swinging new video for the record's "I Am of Death (Hell Has Arrived)."

Framed as a slasher flick, the clip finds a young couple wandering into the woods for a romantic campfire, only to be stalked and maimed by a long-haired killer. It's a pretty cut and dry killing spree, but if you just needed to see a little blood in lieu of some honest-to-god tension, the vid should do the trick.

Also inserted into the vid are shots of Skeletonwitch banging their way through the song in their torch-lit outdoor practice space. It kind of looks like Helloween's old "Halloween" video, but with less pumpkins and more spiked gauntlets and beards.

"It's never a bad time when you combine 100 beers, several bloody sheep skulls, murder in the woods and five headbanging maniacs," guitarist Nate Garnette said in a statement. "It's an even better time when the end result is a killer classic/slasher video. This time we went with the 'even better time.' Enjoy!"

As previously reported, Serpents Unleashed arrives October 29 through longtime label Prosthetic Records, just after the group start a North American tour with the Black Dahlia Murder. You can see all the dates here.
