Six Organs of Admittance Unveil West Coast Tour, Play Vancouver

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 2, 2012

As previously reported, Six Organs of Admittance head honcho Ben Chasny has dialed up the distortion tenfold for the unit's upcoming Ascent album. Besides blowing your mind through a set of headphones, the act are also going to be melting faces this fall on a West Coast tour.

Chasny and his current backup band, who used to jam it out with him in the spacey garage collective Comets on Fire, will make their way up the West Coast from California to Canada come September. The lone date on our side of the border goes down October 2 at Vancouver's Waldorf Cabaret. You can check out all the dates below.

While Six Organs of Admittance premiered new number "Wasawa" a few weeks back, the outfit are giving fans another taste of what's to come via the slightly mellower psych track "One Thousand Birds." Despite its almost laid-back-vibe, there's still plenty of paint-peeling six-string leads here to mess with your head. You can stream the consciousness-expander down below.

Ascent hits retailers August 21 via Drag City.

Tour dates:

9/20 San Diego, CA - Casbah
9/21 Los Angeles, CA - The Echo
9/22 San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
10/2 Vancouver, BC - The Waldorf Cabaret
10/3 Seattle, WA - The Crocodile
10/4 Portland, OR - Doug Fir Lounge
