Singer-Songwriter Jeff Hanson's Death Revealed to Be Drug Overdose

As we told you in early June, Minnesota singer-songwriter and Kill Rock Stars recording artist Jeff Hanson tragically passed away. Hanson, who was 31 at the time, was thought to have died from a fall or some sort of other accident in his new, concrete-floored apartment.

Now, an autopsy by the St. Paul, Minnesota police department has revealed that Hanson's death was caused by a drug overdose. As the Pioneer Press reports, police listed the cause of death as "mixed drug toxicity." Unfortunately, the medical examiner listed the cause as "undetermined," so it's hard to know if it was an intentional overdose or accidental.

Hanson released his third album for Kill Rock Stars, Madam Owl, last year.
