Sin Ropas

Three Cherries

BY Ian DanzigPublished Feb 1, 2000

Fans of Red Red Meat will be pleased to find vocalist and songwriter Tim Hurley back in the saddle fronting a new band, full of that visceral yearning that had become a trademark for Red Red Meat. Percussionist Danni Iosello and bassist Noel Kupersmith round out the trio with a rootsy clank to accompany Hurley’s mumbled vocals, rustic guitar and hollow sounding synths. The eerie soundscapes slip in and out of Hurley’s earthy songs that crawl like snails under your skin. The rhythms hiccup like a drunken friend who wobbles their way back into your heart, as the melodies reverberate with a warm glow. Even though I’ve never been here before, it feels like I’m home.
