OSC Media House and Mudtown Records recently teamed up to create a multifaceted art project with the Silent Film Ensemble.

The Owen Sound musical group have made a name for themselves, composing and performing soundtracks to silent movies, and for The Tom Sessions, they collaborated with artist James Sebesta. According to a press release, "the project's aim is to create post-modern instrumental music combining acoustic and electronic instrumentation, while using Silent Era, original film, and other optical media as visual narrative."

Sebesta's latest exhibition was inspired by his experience raising his autistic son, and it's currently on display at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound.

The two artists' work comes together in the new video, with the Silent Film Ensemble performing at the gallery, surrounded by Sebesta's paintings.

You can watch the moving video of The Tom Sessions below.

They will also perform on February 21 at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound with the 1924 silent documentary of the tragic British Antarctic Expedition titled The Great White Silence.
