Published May 14, 2012Iceland's atmospheric post-rock greats Sigur Rós deliver their next LP, Valtari, May 29 through XL, but the band will premiere the platter in full later this week when they hold a series of time-specific listening parties. The sessions will start up at 7 p.m. local time in every time zone across the globe this Thursday (May 17), and will be hosted on the group's website.
While listening to the record, you can interact with others online by tweeting your experiences using the #valtarihour tag. In the U.S., select record stores and NPR affiliate stations will also be hosting the stream.
In case you missed them earlier, Sigur Rós had previously delivered sneak peeks of Valtari via new tunes "Ekki Múkk" and "Varúð," which both deliver the "ambient," "introverted," "floaty" and "minimal" vibe that the album is said to possess. You can check them both out below.
