In addition to fronting Sigur Rós and making solo music, Icelandic songwriter Jónsi sometimes collaborates with his partner Alex Somers under the name Jónsi & Alex. The couple's latest project is scoring the upcoming film The Wilderness of James.

Written and directed by Michael James Johnson, the 80-minute flick is a coming-of-age drama that stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Virginia Madsen, Isabelle Fuhrman, Evan Ross and Danny DeVito. It was shot in Portland and concerns a boy struggling with the absence of his father as he explores the city.

An official synopsis reads, "Through an infatuating girl and a charismatic stranger, James starts to open his eyes as he's forced to deal with some hard truths."

is set to premiere this Sunday (March 9) at SXSW's film festival. There's no word as to when a wide release will follow, or exactly what Jónsi & Alex's soundtrack will sound like.

Jónsi & Alex released their album Riceboy Sleeps in 2009.
