Sigur Rós Offer Up Their Very Own Scented Candle

With Sigur Rós deep into the creative stages of their upcoming, as-yet-untitled seventh full-length, fans are a ways off from picking up a new album, but they can now empty their coffers and grab a scented candle from the Icelandic post-rock crew.

The trio's webstore is now offering the "Varðeldur candle," named after a track off of last year's Valtari. The wax merch item was apparently "developed to the band's olfactory specifications" and possesses the "smoky, slightly briny smell of a flotsam campfire on a distant black beach under a wan midnight sun."

The product description also alleges quite poetically that the candle homes in on the smell of the band hard at work in the recording studio, whilst in the middle of the "quasi-mystical business of making the magic happen."

The candle, which reportedly could burn for 35 hours straight, can be bought for $23.50 over here.

As previously reported, Sigur Rós are currently on tour, with shows scheduled in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal in March. The band previously said that a Vancouver date is in the works.

You can check out the itinerary as is here.
