Published Jun 21, 2016Yesterday (June 20) Icelandic post-rock lifers Sigur Rós embarked on a special 24-hour "Slow TV" event they called Route One. Well, now that it's ended, the group have properly shared their new song "Óveður."
While elements of the track were used in Route One, the new single is now available here on iTunes. You can also watch its accompanying video below.
The clip was crafted by Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund and was shot in the small town of Grindavík on the Reykjanes peninsular.
As for the song itself, it was written and recorded by Sigur Rós at their Reykjavik studio and co-produced by the band with Paul Corley.
As of yet, there's no firm word if "Óveður" will appear as part of a larger project. For now, check out the video below and see all the group's upcoming North American tour dates here.
