Sigh Down One

'Memory Is Short Longing' (album stream)

Montreal 'punkgaze' outfit Sigh Down One shared their video for "Feeler" with us earlier this year, but have since prepared a new collection of tunes for their first full-length effort Memory Is Short Longing. Before the record arrives later this week, Exclaim! is giving you the chance to hear the entire thing right now.

Recorded on analog one-inch tape by Peter Woodford in Montreal's Bottle Garden Studio (Freelove Fenner, Brave Radar, Jef Barbara), the band's "contemplative grunge" is explored over 10 tracks that explore a wealth of dynamic changes, fuzzed-out guitar riffing and crooning vocals.

A press release likens the set of tunes to the Swirlies, My Bloody Valentine and Bleach-era Nirvana. The record was mixed by Seattle's Dylan Wall (Craft Spells, Weed) and mastered in Montreal by Xavier Bourassa of Rollercoaster Audio.

Memory Is Short Longing officially arrives July 22 through Montreal's L'Oeil du Tigre, with pre-orders available here. For now, take a listen to the entire record in the player below.
