Sideman

"King of the School" / "Why Can't I Be Me?"

Justis Krar and Ross Miller poke fun at their pasts as backing members in a number of bands with the name of their latest project Sideman, and the tongue-in-cheek duo served up "I Had a 'Bad Idea'" earlier this year. Now, they're back with a new cut called "King of the School."

The rock-rap jam blends wailing guitar riffs, percussive beats and shout-sung lines about schoolyard dominance. You can give it a spin down below, where you'll also find the pair's recently released video clip for the accompanying single "Why Can't I Be Me?"

If that's not enough fresh material from the band, Krar and Miller recently recorded more than 20 tracks for an upcoming Single Mothers LP. They'll join the band onstage in London, ON, next month to perform the new tunes, but you can also catch the pair at a couple of other dates before then. See their full upcoming itinerary below.
