SIANspheric

Burlington, ON's SIANspheric have led a strange life that has found them toiling in reclusion with unpredictable hiatuses. This DVD/CD package confirms there is a pulse in the band's camp, but then again, it's also a compilation celebrating their career. The DVD is a collection of various film projects the space rockers have been involved with over the years, and while it's an ambitious effort, it tends to suffer from amateurism in the 25-minute self-titled film, ambiguity in the two short films and insipid technical commentary for the videos. The good news is that the accompanying CD is a true testimony to the colourfully experimental mood music they've made in the last ten years, something that unfortunately doesn't translate to film.
