Shy Child

"Drop the Phone"

Anyone tired of waiting for Shy Child to follow-up their second album say "I." It's been three years since the brilliant One With the Sun dropped on teeny indie label Say Hey, and finally we have some new music from the NYC duo of Pete Cafarella and Nate Smith.

Now signed to Wall of Sound in Europe, the drums'n'keytar two-piece have kept their groove intact on the first single from their forthcoming album, Noise Won't Stop (named after the lead track from their last record... which will also be included on the new album and be used as the second single).

"Drop the Phone" utilises all of Shy Child's patented tricks: oscillating chords, fervent vocals, walloping beats, a hearty serving of cowbell, timely thematic samples and enough club-oriented clout to earn them the respect they deserved years ago. As the MTV2 header reads: "Hot New One" fo' sure.
