Published Feb 03, 2017Billed as Edmonton's loudest indoor metal festival and conference, ShrEdmonton is roaring back to Western Canada this spring. Ahead of its arrival, organizers have unveiled the lineup for this year's event.
Taking place from May 12 to 14, the 2017 edition will be headlined by Vancouver's Unleash the Archers, Winnipeg doom outfit Psychotic Gardening and Edmonton group Blëed. The all-Canadian lineup is rounded out by Eye of Horus, Leave the Living, Voltang, Krepitus, Sleeping in Traffic, Scarlet Serenity, W.M.D., Burning Effigy, Osyron, Gatekeeper, Days I Die, Disturb the Dead and Valyria.
The lineup has been split into three separate shows, including an all-ages event on May 14. The festival also features an all-ages industry conference on May 13, including panels on festival booking and publicity, in addition to vocal, guitar, recording and live sound clinics.
"We're very proud to be able to focus this year's festival on showcasing bands that we feel have supported past Canadian festivals plus helped their local scenes flourish," ShrEdmonton organizer Tyson Travnik said in a statement. "Focusing on keeping this year's experience intimate, yet retaining top-shelf quality is something that I think will set 2017 apart from events we've done in the past. "
A festival "Shredpass" will run you $50, while each individual day varies in price. Full ticketing information is available through ShrEdmonton's official website.
Tickets can also be purchased from Edmonton's Mercury Room, Blackbyrd, Rendezvous Pub and the Forge in addition to Red Deer's Sound House and from Calgary's Annihilatrix Productions.
