Shonen Knife Plan North American Release, Play Vancouver and a Number of Cities in the U.S.

Nipponese girl group Shonen Knife are finally set to release Super Group to North America via Good Charamel Records. The album was released in their Land of the Rising Sun last year but North American fans of the band can now avoid going through all the trouble of buying an import online. After all, those exchange rates can be a real bitch.

Apparently, the concept of Super Group is to "go back to the starting point of rock," says the group. Also, we know all the songs on the album are written in English, there are bits of old school punk pop, metal and of course rock'n'roll, and that the last song is a cover of Paul McCartney and Wings song "Jet."

The group recently added Ritsuko Taneda, who played as a support bassist after Atsuko Yamano left the band to move to La La Land. This will mark her first album as an official member.

You can check out the title track here, and get set for some North American tour dates, only one of which is in Canada at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret on October 25.
