Shocker: Kanye West Pushes Back Release Date of Newly Untitled Album

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Aug 5, 2010

When we reported in June that Kanye West's Good Ass Job would drop September 14, we felt no need to add the caveat that the album might be pushed back. It's a hip-hop album; it goes without saying. With that in mind, West has not only pushed the album's release date back a month, he's also dropped the Good Ass Job title.

The now untitled album will drop October 12, according to Hip Hop DX. Here's hoping it still includes beats from DJ Premier, RZA, Q-Tip and Pete Rock.

In better news, West will release the official video for the album's first single, "Power," tonight at 11 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, following Jersey Shore. The video will be online immediately afterwards.

And, in case you hadn't heard, 'Yeezy has finally joined Twitter, and he's ripping it up. Hell, the New Yorker is already turning his tweets into cartoons. Follow him here.

UPDATE: In a Ustream talk on Friday (August 6), which you can watch here, West said that he's now planning to release his new album "sometime in November." On the plus side, he did give us his "Power" video.
