Shins Keyboardist Arrested After "Blitzkrieg of Violence”

Marty Crandall, keyboardist of the Shins is getting cozy in a Sacramento County Jail after a violent altercation with his girlfriend Friday night (January 4). Crandall’s girlfriend and former America’s Next Top Model contestant Elyse Sewell, posted about the incident on her LiveJournal, saying she "escaped from the room through a blitzkrieg of violence.” At the urging of her legal counsel, Sewell has locked the blog entry until the court date. Photos of her bruised arms from the post have been making the rounds on the net. Sewell was also arrested because of a bite mark she claimed was inflicted on Crandall in self-defense, but was swiftly released while Crandall will be sitting tight until his January 8th court date with bail set at $25,000.
