Sheek Louch and Ghostface Killah: Fan-Sourced "Hot Beats" Contribute to 'Wu Block'

According to Sheek Louch and Ghostface Killah, many of the beats on their upcoming Wu-Block record come from an unexpected source: CDs passed to them by fans.

"When we do shows, people just give you CDs and give you CDs, and that's how I picked up some of these guys," Ghostface tells Exclaim! "Some of these guys had a lot of hot beats. Then there were some dudes, they had a lot of garbage, but they had one hot beat on there, and I was like, 'Yo, I got that shit. That one was the one.'"

Sheek adds that, while there are beats by high-profile producers like Erick Sermon and Red Spyda on the upcoming album, they listened to every beat passed to them with an open mind.

"Once you put the word out that you're making this album, every producer and his mother is going to come out and submit tracks," says Louch. "He's got producers that I ain't even heard of, but the tracks are fire. They didn't have to be Swizz or Timbaland or none of that. We know what good music sounds like."

Ghost says that he's happy to put unknown producers on the record, knowing that it could make their career.

"There's a million Swizzes and Dr. Dres and all them motherfuckers waiting to be discovered," he explains. "They be glad as a motherfucker to get on an album, then they can throw they weight around, like 'I'm on Sheek's album.'"

As previously reported, Wu-Block is now slated for a November 27 release via eOne Music.
