Published Apr 29, 2014Following "Taking Chances," songwriter Sharon Van Etten has shared a new track from her upcoming Are We There album in the form of closing cut "Every Time the Sun Comes Up."
Not unlike "Taking Chances," this is a slow-paced, melancholic number. Her vocal melodies swoop downwards sombrely, and there's a faint country flair to the breezy harmonies. As the track winds down, there's a goofy a cappella snippet with laughing and studio chatter, which is presumably the last thing we'll hear on Are We There.
The album is out on May 27 through Jagjaguwar. See the singer's tour schedule here.
