'Are We There' (album trailer)

The firm details remain to be revealed behind Sharon Van Etten's upcoming Are We There, but the Brooklyn singer-songwriter is giving us a tiny taste of what to expect via a recording studio-set album trailer.

The quick clip presents an as-yet-unnamed arrangement of spacious piano plunks, steadily bowed strings and Van Etten's hushed lines about needing someone to live without fear. As this plays, we see the solo artist delivering vocal takes, sitting in the production booth and hanging with her cast of collaborators. The clip caps with news that the album arrives sometime this May, via Jagjaguwar.

As previously reported, Are We There was recorded in Weehawken, NJ, and at New York's Electric Lady Studio, and has Van Etten and her band joined on the LP by Shearwater's Jonathan Meiburg, Lower Dens vocalist Jana Hunter, harpist Mary Lattimore and Efterklang touring member Peter Broderick.
