The Shaky Hands

Lunglight

Portland mainstays the Shaky Hands certainly aren’t shy about their reverence for that old time rock’n’roll, as their affinity for ’60s garage punctuates all of the songs here. They do manage to make them sound fresh though, thanks to the relaxed production and solid songwriting, courtesy of Nick Delffs, also of Castanets. Songs like "You’re The Light” and "Settle On” shine thanks to their heart-on-sleeve urgency and because they’re simply damn well constructed pop songs. Occasional forays into wanky psych aside ("Love All Of”), Lunglight proves that just because you’ve heard it before doesn’t mean it has to be any less compelling.
