The past year has been one hell of a trip for London, ON's Shad. His latest album, The Old Prince, dropped last fall, garnering a number of rave reviews, as well as a Polaris Music Prize nomination and a spot on the shortlist, which could find $20,000 in his pocket come September 29 when the winner is announced. Somewhere in his busy schedule, Shad found time to shoot a video for his single "The Old Prince Still Lives at Home." The result is nothing short of fantastic, as the Old Prince himself re-enacts the classic intro to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
While he waits for the big event at the end of the month, Shad is currently crisscrossing Canada, including a stop at the Virgin Festival in Toronto this Sunday, a gig during Pop Montreal and CMJ in NYC, as well as a bunch of dates with Hey Ocean! as part of the Toyota Yaris Tour.
