Shad and Skratch Bastid Team Up for 'The Spring Up' EP, Share New Cadence Weapon-equipped Track
Canadian rap charmer Shad has a new album called Flying Colours on the way this year, but that's not the only collection he has in the works. He's also teamed up with East Coast turntable master Skratch Bastid for a collaborative EP called The Spring Up that will come out digitally this month.

Although the EP is scheduled to come out prior to the full-length, an announcement confirms that these songs were actually completed "shortly after the pair wrapped up work on Shad's upcoming full-length." The Spring Up also includes some production help from DJ Jazzy Jeff.

As a teaser for the EP, Shad has shared an upbeat cut featuring Cadence Weapon called "Homie," which finds him dropping quirky rhymes over a boom-bap beat and sampled horns. Stream it below. A finished version of the previously released demo "Peace" is also included on the EP.

The Spring Up doesn't yet have a firm release date, but given that it's due out before the end of the month, we can expect it sooner rather than later.
