BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 8, 2011

Last September, iconic indie imprint Sub Pop announced its foray in to the world of hip-hop through the signing of Seattle's Shabazz Palaces. Led by former Digable Planets rhymer Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, the Seattle-based hip-hop project were all set to follow up their 2009 Of Light and Shabazz Palaces EPs with a full-length sometime in 2011. Fast-forward a few months and you will find the band are now ready to drop their Sub Pop debut, Black Up.

While a full tracklisting has yet to appear, we can tell you that the group's new record will come out May 31. You can get a taste of what's to come via a download of album track "An Echo From the Hosts that Profess Infinitum." All it will cost you is an email address in the widget below.
