Sex Pistols' Glen Matlock Brings Born Running on Canadian Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 3, 2010

Glen Matlock is best known as the original, pre-Sid Vicious bassist for UK punk poster boys the Sex Pistols. After Vicious's death, Matlock has been on call for the Pistols' various reunion tours. With some time off from that, however, Matlock has pursued a solo career, most recently on his 2010 effort Born Running.

Billed as Glen Matlock & the Philistines, the album sees Matlock and his band avoiding some of the snotty posturing of the Sex Pistols in place of some middle-ground rock'n'roll. In our review of the release, we said "many of these tunes are far from the aggression and combativeness of punk, but aren't exactly forgettable."

Matlock will be bringing the jams from Born Running to Canadian clubs in Ontario and Quebec starting next week. The brief run of dates kicks off with a show at Toronto's Bovine Sex Club on December 6. All dates are available below.
