Sepultura Document Rock in Rio Performance with 'Metal Veins' Live Release

While Brazilian metal vets Sepultura were forced to cancel their North American "Tsunami of Metal" tour over visa issues last year, the band still managed to play around the world. For instance, they rocked their home country's Rock in Rio in the fall of 2013, and that set is now being preserved as a concert CD/DVD.

Dubbed, most appropriately, Sepultura and Les Tambours du Bronx: Metal Veins - Alive at Rock in Rio, the live collection drops September 16 through Eagle Rock Entertainment. As implied by the title, the releases showcases Sepultura's concert performance at last fall's Rock in Rio festival. The set found the metal titans joined throughout the night by French percussion group Les Tambours du Bronx, who beat along to classic tracks like "Refuse/Resist," "Roots Bloody Roots" and "Territory" on industrial barrels.

Though the performance came a month ahead of the release of Sepultura's The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart, the setlist at Rock in Rio focused on their back catalogue.

You'll find the details down below.

Metal Veins - Alive at Rock in Rio arrives as an audio CD, as well as on DVD an Blu-ray. The visual format includes the full live set, as well as behind-the-scenes interviews, rehearsal footage and more.
