Published Jan 31, 2017As anyone who works in media knows all too well, it can be hard to find the right image to go with a news story online. But Australia's Daily Mail newspaper has taken things to the next level. Rather than use a stock photo or illustration to go with their story about gang violence, someone at the publication decided to use a press photo of the UK grime crew Section Boyz.
ABC Media Watch tweeted the above image, pointing out that the Daily Mail had misused a photo from the musical act for their story.
The paper has since updated its story with a different photo, though Section Boyz still took to Twitter to express their understandable disappointment with the company.
@DailyMailAU we are not happy with the way you have used our popular picture to slander another group that has nothing to do with us. FIX UP— SECTiON BOYZ (@SectionBoyz_) January 31, 2017
