Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow recently confirmed that he would be returning to his band Sebadoh to work on a new album this spring. Not only that, but Barlow's long-running indie rock outfit will be touring North America this summer.

The outing takes place in August and finds Barlow travelling around the eastern half of the continent. The bulk of the dates are the in the U.S., but there are also three Canadian shows: August 18 in Hamilton, August 20 in Toronto and August 21 in Montreal. See the schedule below.

The Backstage Rider [via Brooklyn Vegan] notes that Sebadoh recorded some tunes in March, and they will continue to work on the recordings later this month. A new EP is expected to arrive before the tour begins, with a full-length to follow in 2013.

As for the new Dinosaur Jr. album, expect that to drop in the fall.
