Rooted in pop and alt-country, singer-songwriter Sean Conway may not seem like the most likely fit for the indie folk stylings of fellow Peterborough artist Evangeline Gentle. However, when we got the two together for a collaborative tune, the result was truly something special.
In conjunction with Pinball Sessions, we met up with Conway and Gentle at the Peterborough Folk Festival to watch them perform "The Worst Thing You Can Think Of," taken from Conway's 2014 effort It's Ugly To Look At Love When You're Average, on which Gentle features.
Backed by some clean powerchords, Conway doesn't shy away from packing his vocal delivery with a good amount of power and definition. Gentle jumps in soon after it starts to provide some harmonic support during the song's rousing chorus. (One can only imagine how this driving number would sound if backed by a full band.)
