Scott Walker Confirms 'The Childhood of a Leader' Soundtrack Release, Shares "RUN"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 5, 2016

After getting Soused with drone metal squad Sunn O))) a couple of years back, pop crooner-turned-avant god Scott Walker has just announced his next solo release. It's been revealed that Walker's score to French period drama The Childhood of a Leader is getting a proper soundtrack release.

An Amazon listing [via Film Music Reporter] says that the soundtrack arrives August 19 via 4AD, though the label has not yet confirmed this on its end. The collection features 18 tracks composed and performed by Walker. You'll find a tracklisting down below and the cover art at the listing.

UPDATE (7/5, 11 a.m. EDT): 4AD has now confirmed the release, and you can pre-order the record here. You can also listen to "RUN" from the release below.

Directed by Brady Corbet, the film premiered last year at the Venice Film Festival and will be released to select North American theatres on July 22. Set in 1918, The Childhood of a Leader focuses on a young American living in France with his father, who is helping draft the Treaty of Versailles. It stars Bérénice Bejo, Robert Pattinson, Liam Cunningham, Stacy Martin, Yolande Moreau and Tom Sweet.

While Walker's Sunn O))) collaboration, Soused, arrived in 2014 via 4AD, The Childhood of a Leader is the first solo-billed release from the beloved and bizarre pop figure since 2012's Bisch Bosch.
