Savvas Ysatis

Savvas Ysatis has done well by creating an album of dubby, minimal techno and tech-house that is neither cold nor boring. Ysatis, a prolific Greek producer, has assembled nine tracks into a pleasing, cohesive album. Luckily, he has shied away from the influence of clicks and cuts, and jackhammer techno, opting instead for delicate melodies and loops. The bass lines are simple, dubby and effective; bits of acid wiggle in and out and strings and organs play snatches of chords and melody. The result is an impressive album of modern, relaxed techno that will work well at home and in the clubs that go for the well-produced, but not overdone, sounds of tech-house.
