Savages

"Shut Up" (video)

As a narrator says in Savages' new video for "Shut Up," off the group's upcoming debut LP Silence Yourself, "We live in an age of many stimulations." If we drown out the peripheral noise long enough, though, we may hear an "angry young tune and recompose ourselves." You can try out her theory out by checking the video out down below.

What we get is a textured performance clip full of real-time and slow-mo shots of the quartet playing the tension-wrought track, which pulls influence from dark yet melodic '80s post-punk. Will it be enough to filter out the rest of the world? Judging by the energy of the act, it should for at least a couple of minutes.

As previously reported, Silence Yourself arrives May 7 through Matador/Pop Noire.
