Plymouth Rock: The Best of Satan's Pilgrims

BY Rob NayPublished Jun 1, 2005

Although they haven’t attracted the same attention as their contemporaries, Man or Astroman ?, Satan’s Pilgrims have still managed to amass a solid catalogue of music since forming over a decade ago. With the reverb turned up to 11 on their surf instrumentals, the Pilgrims have shown a strong ability to pick up the Ventures’ torch and run with it. Plymouth Rock presents songs from the Portland-based group’s albums on Estrus, Empty and MuSick Records. It also includes rare material by the band and the first new recordings from them in more than five years. Spanning two discs, Plymouth Rock clearly spells out Satan’s Pilgrims’ surf rock talents.
