Sarcastic Sounds — a.k.a. Jeremy Fedryk — has teamed up with multi-platinum English singer-songwriter Birdy and Saudi Arabia-based musician Mishaal for his new single "Closure." A vintage-styled, very California video featuring all three artists comes alongside it.

Sarcastic Sounds is a Canadian producer, vocalist and Columbia Records signee who boasts a beat-making credit on Lil Wayne's The Funeral. "Closure" follows his earlier 2021 singles "say goodbye" and "change ur mind" with Claire Rosinkranz and Columbia labelmate Clinton Kane. Sarcastic Sounds co-wrote "Closure" with Mishaal, as well as Noah Cyrus and her frequent-collaborator PJ Harding.

Melancholy yet hopeful, the song is a soothing meditation on both the heartbreak and freedom of closing a chapter of your life. Its breezy surface ebbs and flows into anthemic territory with an acoustic guitar line and cascading orchestral synths, nearly masking the ache at its core.

Directed by Mac Grant, the "Closure" video sees Sarcastic Sounds wearing a mint green suit while dragging a rolling suitcase through the streets, across the beach and into the desert. Mishaal and Birdy chime in from a balcony and an old-fashioned TV, respectively. The clip culminates in a ceremonial burning of old photographs (somehow the only contents of the suitcase?) as the sun sets on the situation.
