New Zealand born, Melbourne-based songwriter Sarah Mary Chadwick has announced her eighth album Messages to God, arriving September 15 on Kill Rock Stars. Alongside the album announcement, she's also shared the video for lead single "Shitty Town."

Executive produced by Tony Espie, Messages to God is described as being made of "broad, brightly coloured spiritual strokes. It consists of dramatic retellings of having your heart broken, existing, movement and growth while always meditating on the past."

"Shitty Town" finds Chadwick at her trusty piano, backed by flute and cavernous atmosphere — it's as beautiful and heart-rending as you'd expect from a Sarah Mary Chadwick joint.

Messages to God is the full-length follow-up to 2021's Me and Ennui Are Friends, Baby.

Check out the video for "Shitty Town" and see the Messages to God tracklist below.
