Remember 1999? Right before the turn of the century, Canadian alt-rock group Matthew Good Band dropped Juno-award winning album Beautiful Midnight. Last year, frontman Matthew Good decided to revisit the album and produce various new versions of the tracks, calling it I Miss New Wave: Beautiful Midnight Revisited. Which brings us to today, where you can catch the singer-songwriter mainstay as he kicks off a Canadian tour this week supporting the LP.

Come dance to some complex rhythmic shredders paired with the dreamy vocals of Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd. This week, the band have two Ontario shows, the second of which they'll share with Mimico and Sprawls.

With a hefty collaboration history — peppered with tracks with Kanye West, Drake and fellow Young Turks label-mate SBTRKT — it comes as no surprise that we aren't the only ones who have kept a keen eye on Sampha and his promising career. In support of his first full-length album, Process, out February 3, Sampha will be gracing the stage this week in both Montreal and Toronto.
