Just as promised, Sam Smith has delivered something new — a song called "Too Good at Goodbyes."
Following promises of "something is coming very very very soon" and some prominent billboards hinting as much, Smith let loose his new song on streaming services this evening. It was written by Smith frequent collaborator Jimmy Napes, as well as songwriting duo Stargate.
"This song is about a relationship I was in and it's basically about getting good at getting dumped," Smith said in a statement. "It's been a long while since I've put any music out and I feel that this first single sets the tone of what is to come."
As of yet, it's unclear when Smith will release his follow-up to 2014's In the Lonely Hour, but for now, listen to "Too Good at Goodbyes" below.
