Published Feb 05, 2015Pop crooner Sam Smith may have had to give Tom Petty a co-writing credit on his biggest single, but he's pressing ahead with a new video for a different song: "Lay Me Down."
The clip for this towering ballad begins with a funeral, as Smith emotes in front of a congregation holding candles. There's a rather abrupt shift in tone, as the video switches to footage from a wedding before culminating in a more sombre solitary event. Impressively, all this is done without any obvious cuts, as it appears to have been filmed in one shot. It was directed by Ryan Hope.
Watch it all go down below. Smith will perform at the Grammys this weekend (February 8).
