Can-rock favourites Sam Roberts Band are set to follow up last year's Lo-Fantasy long-player with a new EP called Counting the Days.
The new five-song collection is due out on Record Store Day (April 18) via Paper Bag Records/Universal. The special release will be available on red vinyl with black and white splatter, and the colourful, trip-inducing artwork (pictured above) was designed by Benjamin Nelson.
Counting the Days follows the band's Juno-nominated Lo-Fantasy, and sees the band further exploring their experimental side, drawing influence from genres as wide-ranging as funk, house, electronic, traditional African music and, of course, good old-fashioned rock'n'roll.
They've offered up the title track from the new EP, which clocks in at a whopping eight minutes, taking the listener on a winding, psychedelic sonic journey. You can give it a listen in the player below.
Counting the Days:
1. Counting The Days
2. Broken Teeth
3. Spirit In The Sky
4. Chasing The Light (Alternate Version)
5. Durban Days
