Said the Whale have completed work on their next album, which will arrive early next year via Arts & Crafts.
"Since seeing the A&C logo on the cover of Broken Social Scene's album You Forgot It In People when I was 17, Arts & Crafts has been a hub of musical discovery for me," frontman Tyler Bancroft said in a statement about the group's new label home. "Stars, the Dears, Apostle of Hustle, Most Serene Republic… and so many more. To now be a part of a roster that was so influential in my own musical development feels incredibly special."
The upcoming LP marks the band's sixth overall, and hears them returning to their "big-hearted blend of indie rock and atmospheric folk." Their previous album, 2017's As Long as Your Eyes Are Wide, heard the group experimenting with a more synth-driven sound.
Full details surrounding its release have yet to be outlined, but the band have shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their latest record.
The new visual trailer for the album shows the band fishing for crabs, barbecuing hotdogs, hiking through nature, and of course, getting down to work inside the studio.
